Inside Colorado's deadly overdose siege

Starting in late 2016, Bruce Holder and his wife began smuggling thousands of fentanyl-laced pills over the border, through a quiet border station in Lukeville, Arizona. In the coming years, the family-turned-drug network would dominate the early fentanyl trade in western Colorado. Fentanyl has killed more than 1,600 Coloradans and tens of thousands of Americans in the past three years, becoming the worst drug overdose crisis in the state’s and nation’s history.
